Florida Swimming completed a dominating performance at the 2009
Southern Zone Age Group Championships amassing 788 points over the
5 day competition. The
closest competition came from Southeastern Swimming (624pts), North
Carolina Swimming (505pts), and Georgia Swimming (469pts). Tyler definitely did his
part in helping Florida Swimming earn their 3rd
consecutive championship. He made 2 individual finals
including the 200 free finishing in 6th place with a
time of 2:10.51, and the 400 free finishing in 6th place
with a time of 4:33.61, both personal bests. Tyler also competed on both of
the 11-12 relays. He
anchored the medley relay to a 4th place finish, and
went 2nd on the freestyle relay that touched the wall in
2nd position. Overall Tyler did a great job
representing GTSA and the state of Florida. I hope that all of you take pride
that you come from the best swimming state in the southeast. I hope that we can have
more people on next year’s team to help Florida Swimming to 4
IN A ROW!
